Well, I didn't quite get around to getting that second post in today. It's nearing midnight, and I'm just plain tired. Mini-Me has been home sick for the last two days, and when Miss La-Di-Da-Di came home from school after a field trip the the Exploratorium in San Francisco, she was burning up.
I guess that I should have seen that coming since she doesn't like to be apart from Mini-Me so they were in close contact the last few days. Plus, she had complained of a headache this morning. I told her to go lay down, and she took a nap for a couple of hours. I had taken her temperature not long after that and it was over 102. Mini-Me's highest was on Sunday with a fever of 103.4. Not sure if Mini-Me will be going to school tomorrow. She's been coughing pretty hard now and has thrown up 3 times. Miss La-Di-Da-Di is definitely not going to school tomorrow.
I've decided that if Mini-Me still has a slight fever in the morning, that I would kill two birds with one stone and take them both to the doctor. I'm sure it's just a virus, and I'm sure that if we do head to the doctor's, that we'll get prescribed the usual round of antibiotics. I know this drill so well that I don't take them to the doctor anymore unless absolutely necessary. Antibiotics don't kill viruses.
Now if my ex knew that both of the kids were sick right now, he would demand I take them to the doctor the first day of their sickness. I'm a firm believer in NOT over medicating your child. There's only so much you can do to keep them comfortable. I'm doing temperature watches, lukewarm baths, and Motrin. Here's hoping that it doesn't last too much longer for either of them.

Sorry to hear about sickness in your house but congrats (belatedly) on your blog anniversary.
Hope they both feel beeter soon - I'm with you - I don't take the kids to the doctors unless it's something I can't deal with myself.
You're right of course, and if it is a virus there's little the doctor can give them anyway. Hope they are both feeling better soon. x
Hope your babies are better by the time you read this. I get cheesed of when people run off to the doctor for every little ailment. Ex's can be a real pain in the arse. Better you go with your instinct.
