That Wednesday was the perfect opportunity to go see the movie just by ourselves since the kids didn't get out of school until 3PM and the movie was only 90 minutes. Those 90 minutes were great from start to finish. The movie? Taken with Liam Neeson. I'm probably more of a romantic comedy kind of girl, but I do like my occasional action flick.
That is what the movie Taken was full of: action. The story starts out with Liam Neeson as a retired spy trying to live a nice and quiet life so that he could be around for his, now 17 year old, daughter since he had missed a lot of her life due to being a spy. His daughter wants to go to Europe with a friend of hers, but being that she is going out of country, she needs his permission. At first he refuses, but thinks about what his ex says to him about letting her live her life, so he agrees. He finds out later that the ex and his daughter haven't been totally upfront about the whole thing, but he lets her go anyways telling her to stay away from certain parts of Europe and giving her a cell phone with instructions to call as soon as she lands. The daughter ends up getting kidnapped, and it's up to Liam to find her.
I don't want to go into too much more of the movie in case any of you want to see it. If I had to put this movie in a list of 'must see' or 'skip it', it would definitely a must see. Besides, who doesn't love Liam Neeson, the original "Darkman"? He really makes the movie worth seeing.
