For those interested, or maybe not so interested, in whether I saw my brother while in Vegas, I think I'm about to disappoint you all. It wasn't that I didn't want to try and see him, it was that I didn't have the time. We were going to try and have family buffet dinner at the hotel we were staying at, but that didn't pan out. My son had to work, which I knew already, but when I called my parents they declined because they have a new dog that has never been left alone. Whatever. Sure I could have called my brother, or at least tried to, to see if he could have come. But without the buffer of my parents, I don't know how well that would have gone down.
I think they're may be an opportunity next month though. My cousin, who has a German wife and lives in Germany, is coming to Cali to visit his mom, aunt, two brothers, and their families. One of my cousin's wife called my mom to tell her about it and was trying to get hold of my brother. My cousin's wife doesn't believe my mom when she says that she doesn't hear from my brother very often. It's true though. We are an afterthought, because it's always my SIL's family first. I guess the reason that that particular cousin and his wife stay more in touch with my brother is because of the wives. They both think that their husbands should just work, earn money to keep them in comfort, take care of the kids, the house, the laundry, etc., while they sit back and do whatever they want. But I digress.
I am thinking of trying to go there, since it's only 3 hours away, and I haven't seen my cousin in 14 years (the one in Germany). If my brother happens to be there, well, that's fine. Just hope they don't give me shit, because I'm not one who will put up with it. I will definitely say what's on my mind. :-/
