Yesterday, I had asked Stinky what he would like for his birthday dinner, and he said he would like it if I made my enchiladas. I had bought a cake mix and frosting, because I was in the mood for cake and knew I could kill two birds with one stone: birthday cake. :) I searched around all day yesterday for a birthday present. Stinky is a hard one to shop for because he's not really into anything and always says he doesn't want anything.
I tried that one year, ya know...the whole not buying him anything because he said he didn't want anything. He was like a woman in that I mean he said that he didn't want a present when he really did. Shoot, I tell Stinky straight up what I want or that it better be something good! lol
Stinky said that he didn't want any phones on or upstairs going off in the morning, because he wanted to sleep in on his birthday. He did get to sleep in, but he was still the first one up. He had decided yesterday that today we would see District 9. I still hadn't gotten him a present, so I took Miss La-di-da-di with me to the store.
When we got back, Stinky and Showboat went to get haircuts. They finished just in time to pick us up and head to catch the 4:00PM showing. We grabbed two large drinks and a large popcorn. I was letting my wild side loose, and brought in some 'outside' snacks as well. The movie was interesting. I was surprised that one, I liked it, and two, it went along fast. I'll probably have a review in a day or two.
After the movie, I started on the cake as soon as we got home. I knew that it would take longer than preparing the enchiladas. So while the cake was baking, I browned the ground beef and added spices, then rolled meat in tortillas, placed in pan, spread red enchilada sauce over all them, and topped with Mexican blend of cheese. By the time I was ready to put it into the oven to bake for a few minutes, the cake was ready to come out.
The enchiladas baked up nice, and my family scarfed it down. Well, not Mini-Me. She is not a big fan of super spicy stuff, and Stinky had bought a hot enchilada sauce. She had to keep getting more water in her cup! LOL
While dinner was cooking and after dinner, Stinky watched few episodes from the Star Trek: Borg collection I got him for his birthday. He likes simple stuff like that, so that present worked out pretty well. We did the birthday cake, but I was getting a little upset due to finding out that my stepson was messing with stuff in & sneaking snacks from my office. Then after I lit the candles on the cake, I couldn't even be arsed with singing Happy Birthday with the kids, because my stepson had pissed me off again by taking the cup Miss La-di-da-di had gotten out for herself and poured the milk she was about to grab to pour in the cup. He is very selfish & self-centered, and HIGHLY obsessed with food. It was quite sad to see him try to be the first one to be at the table and to get first piece of cake. He did try to get the first piece, but Stinky served himself first. LOL
I know that up until then, Stinky was enjoying his birthday. I guess I ruined it a bit by getting angry and holding stuff inside. I hope he knows I didn't have any intention of making his birthday suck at the end. I did apologize.
Stinky, hope you know I wasn't trying to ruin things. I hope your birthday wasn't too bad despite my bitchiness. Happy Birthday. I love you.
