This is how I feel everyday. I've tried to declutter so many times, but something stops me from doing a thorough job. To top it off, I feel like the clutter is hampering with how far behind I think I am in my school work. I actually need to be 'ahead' just to keep up (if that makes sense). Then there's the whole matter of my daughters' cheer squads. I love the coach, but she's a pushover when it comes to the girls in cheer. She has gotten a little tougher, but she is just as disorganized as I am. Can you imagine what it's like when you have a disorganized coach and a disorganized mom helping her? Yeah, it isn't pretty. LOL
Flash Fiction is brought to you by the G-Man. If you feel like playing along simply create a story using exactly 55 words, pop over to his place, and let him know you've posted. Easy Peasy, right? :0)

I'm not sure if we are still with the back-to-school theme this week, but I'm gonna roll with that anyways. As you can see from the Flash Fiction above, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with school. I have two classes and normally that is not a problem for me. But for some reason, I feel like I'm getting behind. When I get like this, I think to myself how can I expect my kids to do things in school that I am not doing as well. Pretty hypocritical, right?
I had a quiz in history yesterday. I know that I missed at least three questions. I HATE that, but I know it's my fault for not reading the material in advance. There's a Spanish exam on Tuesday that was supposed to be today. I think I'll make it through that one. The word order thing gets me sometimes. I think I'm more afraid of the oral exam when that comes up. There's a lot to remember!!

As I was going with the cheer coach to count the money we raised selling Jamba Juice, Mini-Me's teacher sees me and says, "You're just the person I wanted to see." I ask, "Me?" She says, "Yes, it saves me a phone call." She asks me what is going on with Mini-Me as she seems to not be doing as well as she could be in school. I said that I didn't know. Her teacher and I both know that she is not working at her full potential. As a matter of fact, I have looked through some of her previous schoolwork from this year so far, and I was not impressed.
I have already have one child give up on school despite the fact that he is very intelligent (More than myself and sometimes I can't stand that. I want to be the smarter one lol). I felt like had I been more involved at the time, he wouldn't have dropped out. One should never think that if they're child is super smart that he can make it through school on his own. I learned my lesson and have tried to encourage my daughter to do her best in school, music, cheer, and whatever else she chooses to do. I don't want her to be like her brother. By that I mean dropping out of school when she can legally do so.
Want to know who is surprising me and who I think will surprise as all in the end? Miss La-Di-Da-Di. I've seen some her schoolwork so far. There's a definite improvement from last year. I also let her try beginning band this year. She is playing the flute, and she likes it so far.
The reason I say she surprises me is because out of all my kids, she is the one who has struggled the most. It's not that she can't grasp things, it's the fact that even if she can't, she is not worried about it. She is such a carefree child that anything that happens in her life, she's o.k. with it. What a departure from Mini-Me who lets everyone and everything get to her. Now if only Mini-Me could take a little of Miss La-Di-Da-Di's attitude and personality and vice-versa: I think things would work out. :0)
BTW, did I mention they're both as disorganized as me?? LOL
